Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been on a little vacation visiting friends and family in Orlando, FL. It was absolutely wonderful, but now I am back in fickle-weathered Minneapolis. Today was a lovely 80 degrees, but apparently tomorrow it will be back in the 40's : (
All well. I took advantage of the nice weather and took a nap in the park. I've got a little sunburn to prove it.
Anyway, here are some updates on my projects.

The bird key rack was really bothering me, so I decided to add some gold designs around the word and birds. I like it a lot better now and am excited about attaching the hooks and hanging it up. I'll probably put it in my etsy shop soon...

The headband is also coming along well. It actually isn't taking as long to knit as I thought it would, though as you can see I haven't been very diligent at working on it. (she's hanging on the leaf of my lamp btw).

Here's a skirt I started knitted a long time ago! Still plodding along. I keep getting worried about how it'll turn out, as I never use a pattern. So far it looks alright though...

And finally, this isn't my project but I was delighted to see some guerrilla yarn graffiti in Uptown! I only noticed it as I was locking up my bike and felt the acrylicy yarn feel. At first I thought the blue was just paint it is so tightly wound on there. It was a very whimsical day-brightener.

bird keys.

I remembered yesterday that I had this plank of wood that I had painted birds on and planned on making a key holder with. I was tired of knitting so I thought I would get on it.

The finished product is fine, but I'm not completely happy with it. Sadly there really isn't any more that I can do.

Also, any ideas about what I should do with these? My manager gave them too me, because they no longer have lids...

And also...

I can't get over modernfiberlab's felted throw either. I checked out a bunch of books on felting to try and figure out if I could make this. Let me tell you, felting like this would be exhausting. This is definitely worth the price.

She also has a huge knitted basket that is gorgeous. Apparently she had to get some custom made needles to make it.

Future Endeavors

I couldn't help but start another project yesterday. Instead of making another "headband" headband, I decided to start a new design. This one will be a braided white headband that has a button clasp. I'm thinking it will include some embroidery, but I'm not sure.

As of right now it is but humble beginnings.

I have to knit up three little white tubes to braid together. Hopefully it won't take too long...

Also, I have fallen in love with Knitalatte's little covered stones. I keep thinking about how cool it would be to make little crocheted pouches with a stone and make it into a mobile. I'm definitely not as good at lace as her, but I have been practicing...

Finally, I still have a bunch of white linen and lace I bought to make kites with. Sadly I haven't found a place (within biking distance) to get basal wood for the frame. Maybe I'll pick some up when I'm in Florida?

Some in-progress projects.

I forgot to mention, here are some projects that are in progress. The first two photos is of a knitted headband that says "headband." I happen to find things that are named what they are called humorous, so look forward to other labeled products. This headband will remain on my head, as I had already been wearing it for a few months, but I will start on one for the shop soon. You can comment here is you want me to make you one. That will certainly help me get on it!

The next two photos are of paintings I am working on. Eventually it will be a series of portraits with creatures of whimsy included. The first guy will be talking to a little gnome and the second will have moths flying out of his coffee cup. Eventually I want to do a self-portrait with my pet deer. I think that would be lovely.

I heart my bike cozy.

There are some new things in my etsy shop... particularly a post for purchasing a custom made knitted top-tube pad (or "bike cozy) and a headband. I can't emphasize enough how much I love the bike cozies. Mine is plain white with red buttons and my housemate's is sweater inspired. His is by far my favourite and I would love to make more.

Recently my roommate Jared and I had a photo shoot. We decided to make over my shop a bit using Polaroids (regrettably we only had 2... more will be ordered soon) and Polaroid-inspired photographs. Jared is a Polaroid-taking master. You can see them both in the shop, so I'll just share here some of the pictures that didn't quite make the etsyshop cut.
